Good question Jennifer. What I mean by fooling around is many people try to “trick” Google by adding an over abundance of key words they want to be found under. They also try to hide content on their pages or within the code, so a user does not see it, but Google and other search engines may.
Google has caught onto these practices and will penalize you for doing so. For a good brief article on this check out: http://websearch.about.com/od/seononos/a/spamseo.htm
Hope you find this helpful.
